A beautiful walk today along the Promenade Pereire A beautiful walk today along the Promenade Pereire in Paris, a unique green pathway built above the old railway line imagined during the great transformations of Paris in the 19th century by the Pereire brothers.

What was once a railway connecting the city has become today a peaceful promenade where history, architecture, nature, and daily Parisian life meet together.

Walking there feels like crossing through different layers of Parisian history: elegant Haussmannian buildings, majestic trees, hidden gardens, and the quiet rhythm of a city that constantly reinvents itself while preserving its soul.

But beyond the beauty of the place, what made this moment truly special was the quality of the encounters and conversations shared along the way. Sometimes the most meaningful exchanges happen while simply walking together.

Grateful for these moments of friendship, reflection, and human connection in one of Paris’ discreet yet fascinating promenades.

Intense and unforgettable moments at the European Intense and unforgettable moments at the European Union and the European Parliament in Brussels as part of the 170 years of Œuvre d’Orient.

Meeting after meeting, we carried the voice of Lebanon and the Middle East into institutions where important decisions are shaped.

We had the honor of meeting and exchanging with:

• François Xavier Bellamy, Member of the European Parliament
• Nathalie Loiseau, Member of the European Parliament
• Sebastião Bugalho, Member of the European Parliament
• Philippe Léglise Costa, Permanent Representative of France to the European Union
• Hélène Le Gall, Executive Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the EEAS
• Mairead McGuinness, Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief outside the EU

Alongside extraordinary church and community leaders

Two intense and unforgettable days at the European Union and the European Parliament in Brussels as part of the 170 years of Œuvre d’Orient.

Meeting after meeting, we carried the voice of Lebanon and the Christians of the East into institutions where important decisions are shaped.

Alongside extraordinary church and community leaders and together with the incredible team of Œuvre d’Orient led by Monseigneur Hugues de Woillemont, whose commitment to Lebanon and the East deeply moved me.

These were not simple protocol meetings.
They were conversations about dignity, peace, sovereignty, coexistence, education, freedom, and the future of our region.

In moments where many lose hope in Lebanon, it was powerful to witness people from different countries continuing to believe in our mission and our people.
Grateful for every encounter.

From Brussels, with hope. 🇱🇧🇪🇺
There are people you meet in life and appreciate. There are people you meet in life and appreciate. And there are people you meet and feel, almost instantly, that something deeper connects you.

I have not known Vincent Gelot for a very long time. Yet today, after spending these intense hours together, I can honestly say: I feel as if he is a brother.

A brother to Lebanon. A brother to our pain. A brother to our hope.

What moved me the most was not only his knowledge of our country, but the sincerity with which he carries Lebanon in his heart.

Some people are born Lebanese by nationality. Others become Lebanese through love, loyalty, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment.

Vincent is one of those people.

For nearly 24 hours, I watched him move from one meeting to another without ever losing focus, energy, or conviction.

Meeting after meeting, discussion after discussion, he defended Lebanon with a passion that many Lebanese themselves no longer have.

He defended our land.
He defended our sovereignty.
He defended our people.
He defended our dignity and our right to exist freely and proudly.

And he did it not for personal interest, not for politics, not for appearances, but because he truly believes in Lebanon and in the beauty and mission of this country.

The more I listened to him speak, the more I was stunned.
Every word came from a place of deep understanding and genuine love.
Not superficial sympathy.
Real commitment.

In moments when many abandon Lebanon, become tired of it, or speak about it with resignation, there are still people like Vincent who continue to fight for it with courage and faith.

Honestly, I believe Lebanon should award Vincent Gelot one of its highest honors.

Thank you Vincent.
Thank you for loving Lebanon this deeply
Thank you for defending it tirelessly.
Thank you for reminding us that sometimes the people who love Lebanon the most are not those born on its soil, but those who choose it every single day.
